If you love heights and amazing views, you will find yourself being drawn to one of Sydney’s tallest free-standing structures – the Sydney Tower!
Construction started in 1970 and was completed in late 1981. Sydney Tower is also known as Centrepoint – standing an amazing 305 metres above Sydney’s CBD, the Tower can hold a maximum capacity of 960 people!
There are three main sections of Sydney Tower for you to explore and enjoy. But this is definitely not for the faint hearted!
Using the elevators to get to the top is similar to the scene from ‘Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory’. Once you step inside, your journey to the top will take you up 250 meters in a mere 40 seconds!
The first section of Sydney Tower and your first stop on your way to the top that will take you to the 360° degree observation area. It is here that you can feast your eyes on the beauty which is Sydney! Also situated on the first section of the Tower is a gift shop and ‘read about’ display. |
